What a wonderful first full week at El Portal! 💙 blue heart🐾 ep panther paws

Thank you to all of our families who joined us for a very successful Back-to-School Night. It was great to see so many of you on campus connecting with teachers and kicking off the new school year together!

As a reminder, if you are interested in placing your name on the ballot for our School Site Council, please contact me or our school office. We would love to have parents involved and represented in this important part of our school community.

☀️ sun emoji Hot Weather Reminder: This week is expected to be very hot, so please help us keep our Panthers comfortable and hydrated. Send your child with a labeled water bottle, apply sunscreen before school, and feel free to send a hat for outdoor use only.

We’re looking forward to another great week at El Portal!

Try It at Home & School!

This week, help your child practice respect in these simple ways:

  • 👂ear emoji Listen to understand. Practice looking at the person who is speaking and waiting until they are finished before responding.
  • 💬 bubble talk emoji Use respectful words. Encourage “please,” “thank you,” “excuse me,” and kind words—even when we disagree.
  • 🤝 shaking hands  Respect our spaces. Talk about taking care of belongings, cleaning up after ourselves, and treating our home and school with care.

Family Conversation Starter:

Ask your child: “What is one way you showed respect at school today?
