Facilities Needs Assessment Meeting for Parents and Community Members
The District is in the process of developing a Facilities Needs Assessment Plan for all of the school sites. This assessment will become part of the District's Master Facility Plan. There will be an opportunity for parents to meet and discuss what plans may be considered for El Portal Elementary School on Tuesday, May 8, at 8:30 a.m. in the Multi-use Room.
Three District Students Selected as D.A.R. Essay Contest Winners
Congratulations to John Henry Saranick, fifth grade winner from Olita Elementary School; David Anthony Torres, sixth grade winner from El Portal Elementary School; and Joshua Douglas D'Agostino Danielson, eighth grade winner from Rancho-Starbuck Intermediate School.
Letter to Parents and Community Members

El Portal Teachers Receive 2012 Target Field Trip Grant
Congratulations to Marci Pinney and Teresa Herman, third-grade teachers for receiving the Target Field Trip grant that will provide a free field trip for El Portal third graders to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach during February.
